Everyday Armor was officially founded in 2021 by Kailee Billerbeck and has been around since 2019. Our mission is to help young women feel empowered, confident, independent and safe in a unique, relatable fashion. We want every young woman to live her life independently without feeling on edge or unsafe.
Kailee is a second degree level three black belt. She got her black belt in Taekwondo under Jeremy Molley. Mr. Molley also integrated Muay Thai, Kickboxing and weapons into his program, giving Kailee a well rounded training from elementary school until she was 18. She became a certified martial arts instructor at age 16 and taught all ages at Active Martial Arts, helping to open a studio in Mill Creek, Washington as a head instructor.
After high school, Kailee moved to California where she attended Chapman University and got her B.A. in psychology. She was also a member of Delta Gamma where she experienced life as a young sorority woman, off on her own for the first time. After running into situations where her safety felt very much in jeopardy, but where physical training wouldn't have necessarily helped, Kailee wanted to create a curriculum that looked at safety as a whole and didn't just focus on the physical aspect... especially for women with little to no experience. So upon completing her degree, Kailee amalgamated her areas of expertise to create Everyday Armor.
Everyday Armor aims to redefine self defense and make it accessible to everyday individuals amidst their busy schedules. Kailee’s program uses her martial arts, psychology and personal background to teach mental, situational and physical self defense in a realistic, relatable fashion. She has traveled to almost all 50 states on her own, teaching individuals how to not just physically defend themselves, but how to use mental and situational self defense to feel more safe day in and day out.
Whether walking alone at night, traveling solo, running errands, getting gas alone, taking a Lyft/Uber or even just going on a date so many women feel on edge or unsafe living everyday life. Everyday Armor examines what's really happening out there and how to feel safe mentally, emotionally and physically in today's world. Our classes bring the life changing skills to you, empowering you and making you feel more confident, independent and safe on your terms.
